To enable this feature in edna Chat Center versions 6.5.0 to 6.8.0, send a request to technical support support@edna.io. In edna Chat Center version 6.9.0 and above, this feature is available by default for web chat and mobile application chat.
If you transfer the thread to another agent, they won’t be able to edit or delete your messages.
How to Edit a Message
- Activate the editing option in one of two ways:
- Point to the upper-right corner of the message and click on the icon .
- Left-click the message area and select Edit.
- Edit the message text.
- If necessary, delete the existing attachment using the icon and attach a new one.
- Click on the icon to save the changes.
If the edited message is quoted in the thread, the saved changes are also applied to the quote.
How to View Editing History
- View the editing history in one of two ways:
- Click History of message edits.
- Left-click the message area and select Editing history.
- Check out the editing history.
- If necessary, click on the download icon in the upper-right corner of the message to download the file that you attached to the message when editing.
How to Delete a Message
- Activate the deletion option in one of two ways:
- Point to the upper-right corner of the message and click on the icon .
- Left-click the message area and select Delete.
- Confirm the deletion in the window that opens.
The deleted message is marked as Message deleted.
If the deleted message is quoted in the thread, the quote is saved and marked as Message deleted.
If you delete the reply to the quoted message, the quote is also deleted.
If you delete the reply to the quoted message, the quote is also deleted.
