Adding WhatsApp Custom Templates

Custom templates are required to send broadcasts.

You can create a custom template only based on the operator template with the Active status.

To add a custom template, follow these steps:

  1. Add the template data.
  2. Check the template content (optional).

Adding Template Data

  1. Open your personal account and go to Settings → Templates.
  2. Click Add template and select WhatsApp.
  3. Select the Custom template type.
  1. Select a previously created operator template from the Create from template drop-down list.
  2. Enter the template name.
  3. Click Next.

Checking Template Content

Variables are replaced with their values when creating a broadcast based on this template. The message to the recipient will have specific values instead of variables.
  1. If you used character strings in the template text, replace them with text or a variable. See more in the Creating and assigning variables article.
  2. Make sure that the custom template corresponds to the operator template format.
  1. If everything is right, click Save.

The custom template is added with the Active status.
