How to Create a Cascade

  1. Ensure that you have at least one channel connected with the Correct status.
  2. Go to the Settings → Cascades section and click Add cascade.
  3. Enter the cascade name. For example, “WhatsApp → Viber”.
  4. If necessary, check the message delivery time.
  5. Select the channel for the first cascade step from the Send a message via channel drop-down list.
The first step sends messages to the entire audience that will be included in the broadcast. You cannot delete the first cascade step because the cascade should consist of at least one step.
  1. Click Add step.
  2. Specify the period of time after which the cascade should move to the second step if the message hasn’t been delivered via the channel from the first step. The maximum value is 23 hours 59 minutes.
See more about the message delivery time.
  3. Select the channel for the second cascade step from the Send a message via channel drop-down list.
  4. Add the required number of cascade steps.
The number of available steps corresponds to the number of active channels with the Correct status.
  1. Click Save.

Once created, the cascade is added to the list of the Cascades section, where you can edit or delete cascades.

Message Delivery Time

When configuring the cascade, you can specify the time period during which the message should be delivered to the client via the selected channel. If the message is not delivered after the specified time, the cascade moves to the next step and the message is sent via another channel. On all channels except WhatsApp, when moving to the next step of the cascade, attempts to deliver the message via the channel from the previous step will be stopped.

Each channel has a default message delivery time (TTL):

ChannelTime
WhatsAppFrom 30 seconds to 30 days (720 hours) depending on the message lifetime (TTL) specified in the message template. Learn more about how to create and submit an operator template for WhatsApp. Take into account the specifics:
• f a period less than the WhatsApp template TTL is specified in the cascade settings and the message is not delivered after the cascade period expires, the cascade moves to the next step, but by default on the WhatsApp side, attempts to deliver this message will continue until the template TTL expires.
• If the cascade settings specify a period longer than the WhatsApp template TTL and the message is not delivered within the template TTL, then WhatsApp stops trying to deliver the message and the cascade moves to the next step when the template TTL expires.
ViberFrom 30 seconds to 14 days (336 hours).
PushUp to 1 day (24 hours).
SMSUp to 3 days (72 hours).

The default time is taken into account if the channel is the last step in the cascade, or if the cascade consists of one step with one channel.
