In this article, we will cover creating new tags and assigning existing tags to clients.
Assigning Tags to Clients
To assign an existing tag to a client:
- Select a client you want to assign a tag to on the Audience page or create a new one.
- In the User tags section, click Assign tag.
- In the window that opens, search for and select the tag you need: you can type its name in the search bar or browse the tag categories and select it there. You can add as many tags as you need.
- Once done, click Continue.
The client’s User tags section fills in with the tags and tag categories that you select. You can switch between the ways you see the selected tags by using the Tag cloud and Tag categories buttons. Note that the system also assigns the appropriate system tags (age and gender), if available, and displays these tags as well. - To remove a tag, click x next to its name in Tag cloud or Tag categories and, in the Remove the client tag? window, click Yes.
Creating Tags
If the tag that you are searching for doesn’t exist, you need to create it and add it to the tag tree. To do it:
- Select a client you want to assign a tag to on the Audience page or create a new one.
- In the User tags section, click Assign tag.
- In the window that opens, click New tag.
- In the Add tag window, enter the name for your new tag and specify its category (and subcategory, if necessary). The name must be unique, otherwise the system will throw an error message.
- Click Add.
edna adds the new tag and displays it and its category and subcategories in the Tags of the selected category pane of the Select tags from tree window. You can now assign this tag you your clients.
Creating a tag doesn’t automatically assign it to the client so make sure you assign the newly created tag to the client if you want to.
